Two Women Arrested in €20,000 Duty-Free Theft at Lisbon Airport
Two women, aged 30 and 32, were arrested for stealing €20,000 worth of goods from the Duty-Free shops at Lisbon Airport. This operation, named "Duty Free", is part of an investigation that began in September and was announced today by the Public Security Police (PSP).

The women, who have a criminal record for similar offenses, were apprehended on April 1st after investigators noticed a pattern of thefts in the restricted area of the shops, accessible only to ticketed passengers. According to the PSP, the suspects had been booking low-cost flight tickets online to gain access to the shops, where they stole various items such as perfumes, sunglasses, and jewelry. After stealing the items, they fled through the arrivals area.
The total value of the stolen items is approximately €20,000. Following their initial judicial interrogation, a criminal judge in Lisbon has ordered them to remain in preventive custody while awaiting trial.
