Festival da Canção 2025 Participants Announced
Today, RTP, the Portuguese broadcaster, unveiled the twenty artists and their songs competing in the Festival da Canção 2025, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
During a press conference held in Lisbon, RTP disclosed the lineup of participants. This year, they invited 14 composers directly, while six additional artists were selected from an impressive 633 song submissions.
Semi-Final Lineup
The artists will compete in two semi-finals as follows:
Semi-Final One:
- Du Nothin – “Sobre Nós” (Above us)
- Bluay – “Ninguém” (Nobody)
- Capital da Bulgária – “Lisboa” (Lisbon)
- Jéssica Pina – “Calafrio” (Chills)
- JOSH – “Tristeza” (Sadness)
- Marco Rodrigues – “A Minha Casa” (My house)
- Margarida Campelo – “Eu sei que o amor” (I know that love)
- Peculiar – “Adamastor”
- Rita Sampaio – “Voltas” (Turns)
- Xico Gaiato – “Ai Senhor” (Oh Sir)
Semi-Final Two:
- A Cantadeira – “Responso à Mulher” (Response to the woman)
- Bombazine – “Apago tudo” (I delete everything)
- Diana Vilarinho – “Cotovia” (Lark)
- Emmy Curl – “Rapsódia da Paz” (Rhapsody of peace)
- Fernando Daniel – “Medo” (Fear)
- Henka – “I Wanna Destroy U”
- Inês Marques Lucas – “Quantos Queres” (How many do you want)
- Luca Argel ft. Pri Azevedo – “Quem foi?” (Who was it)
- Napa – “Deslocado” (Displaced)

Competition Format
The Festival will include two semi-finals followed by a final. The format remains similar to last year, where five songs will be selected by an in-studio jury and through public voting to advance to the final. After this selection, the public will have the chance to save one more song that did not qualify, making a total of 12 songs competing in the final.
The semi-finals are scheduled for February 22 and March 1, with the final taking place on March 8. The winning entry will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland, next May.
Previous Eurovision Participation
Iolanda, who represented Portugal at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with her song “Grito”, qualified for the Grand Final and finished in 10th place overall.
