Algarve's Debut at FINE #WineTourism Marketplace

The Algarve Tourism will make its debut at the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace, taking place on March 5-6, 2025, at the Feria de Valladolid in Spain. This international event is a key platform for wine tourism professionals, promoting wine destinations and creating new business opportunities within the sector.

Dedicated Space for Algarve

The Algarve will feature its own dedicated space for meetings and showcasing its offerings in the wine tourism segment. This includes the distribution of promotional materials such as guides on Algarve wines and its gastronomy. The Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve, responsible for the Algarve Wine Tourism route, will also conduct wine tastings, highlighting the diversity and quality of local production.

Post-Event Familiarization Tour

After the event, from March 7-11, a group of international operators will have the chance to participate in a familiarization trip to the Algarve. This initiative, organized by Algarve Golden Terroir—a candidate for European Wine City 2026—in partnership with Algarve Tourism, offers participants a firsthand experience of the region's wine tourism.

Strategic Networking Opportunity

André Gomes, president of Algarve Tourism, emphasizes that participation in FINE 2025 is a fantastic chance to establish Algarve as a leading wine tourism destination, enhancing its presence in the Spanish and other international markets. The event will also feature a B2B segment, bringing together around 75 national and international buyers, providing a strategic platform for networking and promoting wine regions.

Growing Significance of Wine Tourism

Since its inception in 2020, the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace has seen significant growth. In 2024, it hosted 140 exhibitors from Spain, Portugal, and Italy, attracting 84 tour operators from 23 countries. The organization estimates that wine tourism generated $7 billion in 2021, with projections to reach $13 billion by 2026.

Strengthening Algarve's Wine Tourism

Algarve's participation aligns with the INTERNACIONALIZAR + Algarve 3.0 initiative and will include the presence of the Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve and Algarve Golden Terroir, further promoting and enhancing the value of Algarve's wine tourism.
