Chega Delegation Meets with Regional Representative

The Representative of the Republic for the Region has recently met with the delegation from Chega, the fourth most voted political force in the recent elections.

Miguel Castro, the party president, was accompanied by Francisco Gomes, an elected deputy from Madeira to the Assembly of the Republic, and José Branco, vice president of the regional political committee.

At the end of the meeting, Castro expressed the party's acceptance of the electoral results, stating they hope for a productive and lasting legislative term. "The Madeirans have made their choice, and it is decided," he affirmed. However, he raised concerns about the judicial situation involving the president of PSD-M, emphasizing the need for responsibility and warning against possible changes mid-legislature, which could threaten stability.

Throughout the morning and into the afternoon, Ireneu Barreto, the Representative of the Republic for the Region, is receiving the six political forces that will sit in the new Regional Legislative Assembly, as per the wishes of over 142,000 voters who participated in the elections on Sunday, March 23.
