On April 9, 2025, PJ conducted a significant operation targeting prisons across Lisbon, Alcoentre, Carregueira, Sintra, and Funchal (Madeira), resulting in the apprehension of two prison guards among the detainees.

Authorities suspect the arrested individuals were involved in:

The operation was overseen by a judge, a member of the Public Ministry, and involved approximately 200 inspectors and experts from the PJ.
