These prices stand in stark contrast to those at major national gas stations, which remain elevated.

Portugal Among the Most Expensive for Fuel
Despite recent declines, Portugal remains one of the countries with the highest fuel prices in the European Union. According to a European Commission report, gasoline in Portugal ranks as the 9th most expensive, and diesel is 10th. High taxes and operational costs for gas stations contribute to this reality. Nevertheless, strategic choices regarding where to refuel can help mitigate the impact on household budgets.
