Various Entities Join 'Earth Hour' in Madeira
This Saturday, March 22, several Madeiran organizations participate in the global event organized annually by the WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature, known as 'Earth Hour'.
The initiative encourages the community to turn off lights and unplug non-essential electronic devices for one hour to raise awareness about environmental issues and the need to combat climate change.

Local Events
In addition to turning off lights, the Municipality of Calheta is organizing a night walk titled 'Calheta Caminha Pelo Planeta', starting at 7 PM with participants gathering at Praceta 24 de Junho, in Calheta. The walk will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
In Funchal, the municipality, in partnership with the Corpo Nacional de Escutas - Group 420, Tecnovia Madeira, and Ginásio Platinium Health & Fitness Club, will host planting activities and awareness actions on the biodiversity of ecosystems at the Funchal Ecological Park.
Machico will also host an environmental walk along the waterfront, meeting at 8:15 PM at the Porto de Recreio.
The Ilhéu de Câmara de Lobos will feature a yoga session titled 'Yoga pelo Planeta' in partnership with Silent Beats, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
