Pedro Nuno Santos Calls for Inquiry

The Secretary-General of the Socialist Party (PS), Pedro Nuno Santos, has announced that the party will request a parliamentary inquiry regarding the case of Luís Montenegro. He expressed that there are still many doubts surrounding the situation and criticized the Prime Minister for his role in the degradation of democratic institutions.

"Our duty is to do everything we can to protect the regime, which includes uncovering the truth. The PS will present a request in the Assembly of the Republic for the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry commission," he stated.

Santos emphasized that he does not take this step lightly, acknowledging the challenges involved in a parliamentary inquiry. He lamented that the Prime Minister has left them with no alternative.

This announcement came after a meeting of the National Secretariat of the PS, called to discuss the national political situation following the Prime Minister's recent communication to the country.
