PUMA Announces Exciting Partnership with Portugal Football Federation
PUMA has officially declared a long-term agreement with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), confirming what many already suspected. This partnership marks a significant shift as Portugal transitions from its long-standing relationship with Nike to join the PUMA family.
Originally hinted back in June 2023, the news has now been solidified. Starting in 2025, PUMA will provide kits for all male, female, and youth teams, including the FPF's futsal, beach football, and E-Sports teams.
“Signing a top-tier national team was one of our priorities in football and I am very excited to welcome a team as popular as Portugal to the PUMA Family,” said Arne Freundt, PUMA CEO. He added, “Given the large number of fans all over the world and the great potential of the next generation of this squad, we are looking forward to the upcoming big tournaments such as the 2026 World Cup.”
The partnership also allows PUMA to continue its legacy in Portuguese football, dating back to the 1960s when it partnered with Eusébio, the legendary player known as “O Rei.” Eusébio was a key figure in Portuguese football, famously leading his team to a third-place finish in the 1966 World Cup.
Fernando Gomes, President of the FPF, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We were attracted to PUMA because of the way in which they engage with the fans and tell the unique story of every team they work with. We look forward to creating an exciting range of products with them which will resonate with our large fan base all over the world.”
PUMA is set to unveil new products and its creative vision for this partnership in early 2025.
