The 2025 Enduro European Championship Kicks Off

The 2025 Enduro European Championship commenced in Santiago do Cacém, Portugal, featuring an expertly organized race by Associação Motor Sport Vila Nova Santo André. The event covered a 50 km route, repeated three times daily, totaling a grueling 150 km each day.

Riders faced a series of three special tests, which were repeated across two days, culminating in a total of nine tests per day alongside a Friday Evening Super Test.

The 4.2 km Cross Test, 5 km Enduro Test-1, and 1.2 km Extreme Test posed various challenges, including dust and sand, under warm spring temperatures.

Day 1 Highlights

Northern European riders showcased their prowess on the opening day. Roni Kytonen from Finland claimed overall victory riding the new KR69 Husqvarna, battling closely with Mikael Persson (Triumph). Young talent Kimi Koskinen (GasGas) secured third place overall and triumphed in the Junior1 category.

In the E1 class, Kytonen and Persson continued their fierce rivalry, finishing first and second, while Portuguese rider Luis Miguel Anjos Oliveira (Yamaha) clinched third. In E2, Finnish rider Hermanni Haljala (KTM) won, and Gabriel Chetnicki (GasGas) was victorious in E3. The Women’s category saw an exciting contest between Vilde Marie Holt (KTM) and Joana Goncalves (Husqvarna).

The second day featured another thrilling showdown between Kytonen and Persson, with Persson narrowly securing the overall victory by mere seconds. Koskinen once again maintained his dominance in Junior1, finishing third.

In E2 and E3, Haljala and Chetnicki repeated their victories, confirming their status in their categories. The Women’s competition continued to impress, with Holt edging out Goncalves by just four-tenths of a second.

Among senior riders, Łukasz Kurowski, Juha Puotsaari, and Roland Liszka repeated their triumphs from Day 1, while the Youth category saw a new French winner, Allemand Gabin (KTM).
