Eight districts in mainland Portugal are set to be under yellow warning from late Sunday afternoon due to expected heavy rain and four districts will be under orange warning for maritime agitation on Monday, as reported by the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA, the districts affected by the yellow warning include Beja, Évora, Faro, Leiria, Lisbon, Portalegre, Santarém, and Setúbal. The yellow warning will take effect from 18:00 on Sunday in Beja, Faro, Lisbon, and Setúbal, while it will start at 21:00 in Évora, Leiria, Portalegre, and Santarém.

The warning for Lisbon and Setúbal will end at 00:00 on Monday, while the others will last until 03:00. The orange warning is issued when there is a moderate to high risk weather situation, whereas the yellow warning is the least severe and indicates potential risks for specific activities influenced by weather conditions.

On the western coast, the sea will see waves from the northwest ranging from two to three meters, decreasing to one to two meters, while the southern coast will experience southwest waves of one to two meters, reducing to one meter.

Temperatures are expected to vary, reaching a maximum of 16 degrees in Setúbal, Faro, and Sagres, and a minimum of -2 degrees in Bragança.
