By early morning, maximum gusts reached 125 km/h at Caniçal at 6:40 AM and São Jorge at 6:20 AM, according to the IPMA meteorological network.
The North Coast and mountainous areas of Madeira, along with the island of Porto Santo, are currently under a yellow warning for strong winds, with gusts expected to reach 80 km/h, potentially increasing to 100 km/h in higher elevations.
