Temu Expands Delivery Services in Portugal

Temu, the global direct-from-factory online marketplace, is expanding its nationwide delivery services in Portugal to enhance e-commerce access across the mainland and the outer islands.

The company has fortified its partnership with CTT Correios de Portugal to ensure complete delivery coverage throughout Portugal, including the Azores and Madeira archipelagos.

With this expansion, consumers in Portugal can receive packages from Temu and conveniently pick them up at CTT’s parcel lockers branded as Locky.

Temu made its entry into the Portuguese market in May 2023 and currently offers over 600 product categories. A spokesperson from Temu stated, "By extending our delivery coverage to these island territories, we're ensuring that all Portuguese customers, regardless of their location, can enjoy the same convenient access to our platform's diverse product offerings.”

CTT Portugal provides a broad spectrum of services, including mail and parcel delivery, financial services, and logistics solutions, employing 12,637 people across the country. A spokesperson from CTT remarked, “This expansion demonstrates the strength of our partnership with Temu and our ability to provide comprehensive logistics solutions across Portugal. Together, we are committed to enhancing customer satisfaction and transforming the delivery experience.”

In the past year, Temu has also started inviting local sellers from various countries, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Mexico, Belgium, Poland, and Austria, to join its platform. The company, which has expanded to 90 markets globally since its launch in September 2022, anticipates that up to 80 percent of its total sales in Europe will stem from this local-to-local model.
