Toni Bou, the Montesa Cota 4RT rider, showcased his unmatched skills by clinching four victories during Round 2 of the TrialGP World Championship held in Viana do Castelo on April 13th, 2025. His teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, also delivered a commendable performance, finishing in fourth place.
Race Highlights
On a day characterized by dry sections, all participants significantly improved their performance compared to the previous day. Bou, despite a shaky start, managed to recover from early penalties and took the lead after Zone 12, ultimately winning the first race and scoring 20 points in the overall standings.
In Race 2, the difficulty remained high as riders faced the same challenging sections for the fourth time. Bou, a 37-time World Champion, demonstrated his experience and skill, overcoming stiff competition to secure his fourth win of the season, despite incurring six penalty points.
Marcelli, who had a challenging Saturday, turned his fortunes around in the second race. He led for much of the first race but finished third, earning 15 points overall. In the second race, he battled closely with top competitors, finishing just shy of the podium in fourth place, accumulating 28 points for the day.
Standings Update
After this remarkable performance, Bou now leads the championship with 160 points, while Marcelli maintains third place with 114 points. The next round of the TrialGP World Championship is scheduled for May 16-18 in Motegi, Japan.
