Bomb Threat at Lisbon City Hall

On Wednesday morning, a bomb threat was reported at the Lisbon City Hall (CML) located in Campo Grande. The information was confirmed by an official source from the PSP (Public Security Police).

Evacuation and Response

Employees were evacuated from the building, and by around 3 PM, the joint intervention of the PSP and Lisbon Firefighters was declared complete. Employees were allowed to return to their workplaces, and the security perimeter that had been established was lifted.

The threat was made via an anonymous call, which stated that two individuals would enter the building to leave bags containing explosives. However, according to the PSP, no suspicious bags or items were found at the site.

Investigation to Follow

The next step for the police is to draft a report that will be sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation into what appears to be a false threat.

Emergency Response Details

During the morning, alarms were triggered at the CML headquarters in Campo Grande, prompting the PSP to respond quickly. Five PSP vehicles and two fire trucks were present on-site, establishing a security perimeter.

An employee on the scene reported that people “exited in an orderly and calm manner”. The evacuation was completed relatively quickly, considering the building's size and the number of workers present.
