Second Suspect Surrenders in Braga Attempted Homicide Case
The second suspect in the attempted homicide case in Adaúfe, Braga, which occurred in February, has turned himself in at the Guimarães Court on April 24. The Judicial Police (PJ) confirmed the details on April 25.
The incident, currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department of Braga, transpired on the afternoon of February 21 at an automotive workshop. The victim, a 54-year-old man, was attacked by both suspects after he refused to repair a vehicle that belonged to them.
The first suspect, who is the son of the man who surrendered, was arrested earlier in April and is awaiting trial in preventive detention. According to the PJ, the father and son reacted violently to the victim's refusal, initially attacking him with a wooden bat, followed by a bladed weapon and a brick.
The workshop owner suffered a stab wound to the abdomen, resulting in severe injuries that endangered his life. He underwent emergency surgery at the Hospital de Braga and remained hospitalized for several days.
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene, with the first arrest occurring on April 2. The second suspect remained at large until his recent surrender, where he was subjected to a non-flagrant arrest warrant. During his initial court appearance, he was placed under the most severe preventive detention measures, as stated by the PJ.
