Jonas Vingegaard (Visma) has emerged victorious in the 2025 Volta ao Algarve, showcasing his prowess in the 19.6-kilometer time trial from Salir to Alto do Malhão, where the final stretch included a challenging ascent.

With a remarkable time of 28.25 minutes, Vingegaard not only clinched the stage victory but also secured the overall title. His closest competitor, João Almeida (Emirates), who began the stage 16 seconds behind, finished 30 seconds slower, placing him second overall. Almeida was the sixth fastest in the time trial.

Completing the podium was Laurens De Plus (INEOS), who finished 24 seconds behind Vingegaard. The Emirates team faced a disappointing outcome; they started the final stage with three riders in the top four overall. However, Jan Cristen, the previous yellow jersey holder, fell to 10th place, and António Morgado, initially in fourth, ended 11th, 1.15 minutes off the lead.
