Thrill-Seekers at Câmara de Lobos
For several days, the Madeira Archipelago has been under a maritime agitation warning. Despite the risks, many still venture out to get a closer view of the tumultuous sea in Câmara de Lobos.
Access Restrictions
It is important to note that access to the quay is currently restricted, both for vehicles and pedestrians.
Safety Warnings from Authorities
As previously reported by the DIÁRIO, due to the adverse weather conditions, the Captaincy continues to advise the maritime community and the general public to take precautions when preparing for sea trips or while near coastal areas. Some of the recommendations include:
- Reinforcing mooring and maintaining a close watch on docked and anchored vessels.
- Avoiding walks near the sea or in areas exposed to maritime agitation, such as protective jetties, cliffs, or beaches, to prevent being caught off guard by waves.
- Refraining from recreational fishing, especially near cliffs or areas frequently hit by wave surges, as the sea can easily reach seemingly safe zones under these conditions.
