Benfica's Public Tender for Affordable Housing
The Benfica Parish Council in Lisbon has announced a public tender for the design and construction of 50 affordable housing units under the Housing Access Support Program of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The announcement was made on Wednesday in the Diário da República (DR), where Ricardo Marques, the president of the Benfica Parish, stated that proposals for the construction of a multi-housing building on Estrada do Calhariz de Benfica and Travessa Agostinho de Macedo must be submitted by 11:59 PM on May 15.
The project in Benfica will be constructed in accordance with the Housing Access Support Program of the PRR, with a base price of €5,210,000 (excluding VAT), as detailed in the DR announcement.
A year ago, on April 16, 2024, the Lisbon Municipal Assembly approved the sale of a plot of land in Benfica to the parish council for €1.8 million to facilitate the construction of affordable housing, where these 50 units will now be developed.
The proposal, supported by Carlos Moedas, the president of the Lisbon City Council (PSD), included the sale of a 2,677 square meter municipal land parcel on Estrada do Calhariz de Benfica for €1,800,500 to the Benfica Parish Council.
