Exciting Event Announcement
Faro, March 12, 2025 (Ecclesia) – The Focolare Movement in Portugal is set to host the 'Mariápolis' 2025 gathering, themed “Who are you to me?”, from April 24 to 27 at the Retreat House of São Lourenço do Palmeiral in the Diocese of Algarve.
This event promises to be a fraternal experience illuminated by the Charism of Unity. It is open to children, youth, families, and adults, as stated on the Focolare Movement's official website.
According to the Focolare Movement, the 'Mariápolis, City of Mary' has historically gathered individuals from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to engage in a laboratory of universal fraternity, as reported by the 'Folha do Domingo' newspaper from the Diocese of Algarve.
The organizers assert that 'Mariápolis' will provide a privileged experience for each participant to deepen their relationship with themselves, God, and others, rediscovering the strength to build paths of peace.
“This will be an occasion to experience that being a community is more than just being together. It is a response to the call to give life to a family sustained by the Word of God,” they add.
Program Overview
The 2025 'City of Mary' event will feature moments of reflection and sharing, workshops, a cultural forum, group activities, excursions, and more at the Retreat House of São Lourenço do Palmeiral in Pêra.
The 'Mariápolis' will kick off at 6:00 PM on April 24 and conclude on April 27 at 3:00 PM, following lunch. Registration is open until April 1, according to the 'Folha do Domingo'.
