The first meeting of the new government council is currently taking place, following the recent inauguration at the Legislative Assembly. This marks the fifth council led by Miguel Albuquerque, who has made significant changes to the team, retaining only Jorge Carvalho in Education and Eduardo Jesus in Tourism and Culture, who now also oversees Environment.
New faces in the XVI Regional Government include José Manuel Rodrigues for Economy, Micaela Freitas for Health and Civil Protection, Paula Margarido for Inclusion, Work and Youth, Pedro Rodrigues for Equipment and Infrastructure, Duarte Freitas for Finance, and Nuno Maciel for Agriculture and Fisheries.
In his first public ceremony as president of the new executive, held this morning, Miguel Albuquerque announced that there are plans for substantial changes in the government structure. The names of the regional directors for various secretaries are yet to be disclosed, but significant adjustments are expected.
Meanwhile, as reported by DIÁRIO, the new president of IHM, Leonel Silva, and some cabinet chiefs have already been confirmed.
