CCDR Algarve Engages with Businesses on Strategic Technologies Platform
The Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve held a meeting on December 2nd to discuss the creation of the “Strategic Technologies Platform for Europe” (STEP). This initiative, launched by the European Commission, aims to mobilize and identify funding opportunities across eleven EU funding programs focused on three key sectors: digital technologies and cutting-edge innovation, clean and resource-efficient technologies, and biotechnologies.
The STEP portal is designed to simplify the search and acquisition of funding for high-quality projects, following a new regulation that came into effect on March 1st. The goal is to enhance industrial competitiveness and sovereignty within the EU by financing the development and manufacturing of critical technologies, strengthening supply chains, and addressing skills shortages.
To ensure maximum investment impact, eligible high-quality projects will be awarded a “STEP Seal” or “Sovereignty Seal”, highlighting their excellence and strategic value.
