Located in the Boqueirão do Duro, one of Lisbon's most dynamic areas, Duro provides a unique experience that merges the past with the present, offering an authentic taste of European cuisine reminiscent of classic Lisbon dishes from the early to mid-20th century. The restaurant embodies a nostalgic revivalism that values tradition and gastronomic quality from that era.

A True Portuguese Experience

Inspired by the Parisian brasserie concept, Duro presents itself as a genuinely Portuguese restaurant, honoring the classic venues of a Lisbon influenced by French and Spanish culinary traditions. The menu reinterprets iconic dishes such as Chateaubriand, Polvo à Galega, and Ovos Rotos com Carabineiro, while also highlighting local favorites like Arroz de Forno de Robalo and Crispy Suckling Pig Belly, along with vegetarian options like Mushrooms à Brás with Truffle. Executive Chef Sandro Farinho, who also leads the Yuppie restaurant, ensures high-quality gastronomy at Duro.

Diogo Amaral, a partner at Duro, notes, "In Lisbon, there has always been a strong external influence, especially from Galician and Parisian cuisines. Our foundation is Lisbon-based but enriched with French and Spanish influences, reminiscent of the best restaurants in Lisbon during the mid-20th century."

Commitment to Quality

Duro's team has years of experience, allowing them to select top-notch suppliers to ensure fresh, certified, and sustainably sourced products. The wine list features a mix of classics and emerging national producers, including options from the islands and select international wines.

Chef Sandro Farinho emphasizes, "Our close relationship with suppliers guarantees the highest quality of ingredients used in our kitchen, ensuring freshness in line with seasonality. We also feature a display of fresh fish and seafood, allowing customers to choose based on product quality."

A Unique Name and Concept

The name Duro is derived from the street it resides on, Boqueirão do Duro, named after the old pathways leading to the river. It also reflects the restaurant's commitment to preserving a past where quality was paramount, focusing on raw ingredients, service, and the customer experience. This new establishment from the Attifood group joins its “siblings” such as Descarado, Sem Vergonha, Vivant, and Yuppie.

Francisco Nobre, another partner, shares, "Since we opened Sem Vergonha, we aimed to expand our restaurant network and had this area in sight. Observing the new building's development in a familiar zone, I immediately recognized the excellent opportunity. It combines a great location with a corner shop layout, almost 4-meter high ceilings, abundant light, and large street-facing windows, making this space ideal for Duro's concept, celebrating classic Lisbon from the past century."

A Cozy and Dynamic Atmosphere

Situated in a corner store with nearly four-meter-high ceilings and expansive windows for natural light, Duro combines a cozy ambiance with the vibrancy of a prime location near Rua de S. Paulo. The area is central and easily accessible, attracting both locals and tourists, offering private parking and an open kitchen from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM or midnight, catering to those seeking meals outside conventional hours. Evenings are lively, featuring a DJ throughout the week.

Duro's approach blends classic and contemporary, showcasing an avant-garde footprint with a visual and conceptual identity that marries traditional elements with modern design trends. The ambiance is unique and confident, featuring noble materials like wood and natural stone, combined with the toughness of stainless steel and comfortable modern furniture.
