McDonald's Portugal Embraces Tradition with New Sundae
McDonald's Portugal is once again celebrating traditional Portuguese flavors with the reintroduction of a limited-edition dessert. This sweet treat, available until May 26, is offered at all restaurants across the country, including through the McDelivery service.
The Doce da Casa Sundae
The dessert, called the Doce da Casa Sundae, combines classic McDonald's ice cream with two beloved Portuguese ingredients: egg custard and crushed Maria biscuits. The special biscuits are supplied by the Portuguese brand Vieira, which is part of McDonald’s extensive network of over 700 national partners in Portugal.
A Tribute to Local Culture
This launch aligns with McDonald's strategy to strengthen its connection with local culture, emphasizing the products, flavors, and habits cherished by the Portuguese. The campaign's motto, “The most Portuguese Sundae in the world”, reflects this commitment.
Ana Freitas, marketing manager at McDonald's Portugal, states, “This product is a tribute to Portugal, to the flavors we grew up with and the traditions that connect us.” She emphasizes the brand’s dedication to adapting to local markets, aiming to foster an emotional connection with Portuguese consumers through an authentic and culturally relevant approach.
